Veterinary service that is customized to you, your pet, and lifestyle.

Wellness Examination

Dogs and cats should have regular check-ups, vaccinations, and routine blood tests to ensure they can stay healthy. Routine examinations can help us detect ear infections, eye changes, dental disease, obesity, senior metabolic changes or orthopedic changes.

Vaccination

Vaccines can help save lives; however, not all vaccines are appropriate for all pets. Examining and discussing pet lifestyle can help guide us as a pet owner-veterinarian team on what vaccines are right for your pet.
I use the vaccines that I perceive to be the safest to work for your pet, not against.

Lab testing

Annual lab tests give your pet’s body a voice to help tell us what is possibly wrong or if there are foreign invaders in the body. Possible lab tests indicated for your pet:

  • Fecal intestinal parasite screening- this is a stool sample to look for intestinal parasites that your pet could get exposed through outside soil, potting soil, outdoor/lake/river/creek water, exposure to other pets’ feces, or by eating outside creatures such as earthworms, rodents, fleas, slugs, snails or frogs.

  • Blood testing- helps us look at organ function, anemia, inflammatory diseases. Routine blood testing can also provide a baseline for comparison over time.

  • Heartworm and Tick screening- to look for exposure to dangerous tick borne diseases such as Lyme diseaes, Anaplasmosis, Erhlichiosis or heartworm disease.

    Heartworm Tick Testing $65
Fecal Parasite and Giardia PCR Testing $75
Ear Cytology and Mite check $30

Nutrition

Nutrition assessment is important when helping your pet feel their best. There are an overwhelming number of diets on the shelves at the pet stores. I will help you determine if your current food and portions are the best option or if we can find an alternative that may help improve and decrease their risk of osteoarthritis, diabetes mellitus, or skin allergies.

Prescription Refills

If a prescription is indicated for your pet, a written prescription will be given or authorization to purchase from an online pharmacy.
When you purchase the prescription through my competitively priced online pharmacy, a portion of the purchase comes back to the clinic which helps with future care provided to pets by purchasing of additional equipment such as an ultrasound, cytology scanning microscope or x-ray equiptment.

The Challenging Patient

My goal is to minimize your pet’s stress as much as possible. In some cases, pets can be stressed or show anxiety when new people or there are changes in the environment or setting.
I believe in using low-stress handling, calming pheromones, gentle voices, and giving a lot of treats.

Please do not hesitate to ask if you think pre-visit anti-anxiety medications might be helpful for your pet.
Pets that require extended appointment times are subject to higher examination fees to account for the veterinarians time commitment.
